The air-cooled Plan 23 heat exchanger utilizes forced or natural air convection to replace the water-cooled solution, fundamentally eliminating reliance on industrial cooling water and preventing the risk of cooling water contaminating the process fluid. It is particularly suitable for applications with water scarcity, high water treatment costs, hazardous process media, or water-free requirements. However, it should be noted that its heat dissipation capacity is limited, making it suitable for low-to-medium heat load and low-to-medium viscosity conditions. Its performance is significantly affected by ambient temperature, and installation requires strict adherence to vertical arrangement and proper venting.
